Alice M. Miesnik
Alice M. Miesnik (nee Adelman), wife of the late John A. Miesnik, passed into the next life on November 10, 2016 at the age of 87. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, as one of seven children,
Alice is survived by her sister, Ruth and brother, Frank. She and John married in 1949 and raised four children: Frank (Lake Hiawatha, NJ), John (Warminster, PA), Jim (Grimesland, NC), and Alice Jo (Maplewood, NJ). Alice was a bookkeeper for both McDaniel’s Plumbing and Heating and Huber’s Sporting Goods. Alice enjoyed her large extended family which included her daughters-in-law: Peg, Sue, Liz, and Rosa, eight grandchildren, their partners, and thirteen great grandchildren who affectionately dubbed her “Alice, the Great”. She is predeceased by her great grandson, Ethan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In 2009, Alice moved from her home of over fifty years in Wilmington, DE to Southampton Estates, in Southampton, PA to be closer to family. The care Alice received at Southampton Estates in the last seven years of her life was exceptional.

Visitation will be held at Doherty Funeral Home at 1900 Delaware Avenue in Wilmington on Friday, November 18 from 10:00-11:00, with a service at 11:00, followed by interment at Cathedral Cemetery where Alice will be laid to rest with her husband, John.
