  George Krawczuk

 

George Krawczuk, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at the age of 83, peacefully at his home after prolonged deteriorating health.

George was born in the Ukraine on February 16, 1933. He immigrated to the United States with his parents. He was a long time resident of Delaware. He was employed by Atlas Power Co., ICI America and Nippa Hardwick Laboratories. After his retirement, he became an avid gardener and fruit tree propagator. He collected seeds to send to his relatives in the Ukraine so they could experience a better life. He traveled to the Ukraine several times to see the fruits of his efforts and visit his ancestral home.

George is survived by his children, Anna of North New Jersey and Michael of Wilmington, DE; his brother, William and his wife Mary of Wilmington, DE and their children, Linda, Mark and Paul and his wife, Emily. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Margie Krawczuk of Wilmington, DE. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph; his niece, Wendy; nephew, Tim and his wife, Jennifer. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who simply knew him as “Uncle George”.

Visitation will be held starting at 9 am in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 am. Burial will be in the Cathedral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be sent to: St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 801 Lea Blvd., Wilmington, DE 19803.
