My sincere condolences to Karen's family. I am so sad to hear of her passing. Karen was one of the most generous and thoughtful people I have ever met; truly such a kind soul with humility and always a laugh.

I am so sorry for your loss. Karen was a dear friend and will be greatly missed. Karen and I had the "Best Aunt" in common. Karen loved her family so much and did everything she could to show her niece and nephews she was there for them. She gave her unconditional love to her family. I dare to think what you will all do without her. I hope you feel her love everyday in your heart. Karen always had a smile to share. I will miss you my friend and pray you are now with your Mom and Dad in our Lords loving arms. God Bless the Samluk family

First I wanted to say my thoughts are with the family during this time. Karen and I grew up together as children, in the same neighborhood, across the street from one another. We were the two "tom boys" and loved to play sports. Karen was amazing - and she could ace that underhand fast ball to the plate. I have so many fond memories of our times together as children and young adults in high school - playing sports, such as, basketball (I was not a natural) and softball. My heart is heavy and my thoughts are with everyone. Karen was an amazing individual - authentic to the

core. Sincerely, Allison (Rowe) Norfleet

I was Karen's basketball coach at Newark High School. She wasn't the biggest player, but no one had more energy or enthusiasm for the game. I enjoyed working with her on the team. I am very saddened by her passing, which is much too soon. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. She is with the Lord now, safe in his arms. May you all be comforted with your happy memories of your good times together.
Fondly, Barbara Jo Apichella

I remember the first time I met Karen, working at the DuPont data center. There she was, wearing a purple winter jacket with all of that thick, long red hair. She looked like a tough cookie but turned out to be a sweetheart. Karen was never showy, always quiet. She didn't miss a trick, though, and was always there with an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on and a quick joke to lighten the moment. I will sorely miss her, one of the most down to earth and caring friends I've ever known. RIP my friend.

Sue: It is so sad that you have lost your sister. We are certain the many hours you spent with her throughout her courageous fight in some way made her transition to heaven easier. She cannot be replaced but she can always be remembered and we hope that you can find solace in your memories of Karen.
