Thomas A. Kolakowski, age 87 of Clayton, DE passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He married the love of his life, Dolores. They lived two years in Philadelphia, Pa before moving to Clayton, DE. He worked as a carpenter with Local #626. He then moved to Clayton, DE to become a dairy farmer eventually returning to work as a carpenter. He enjoyed time at his home in Long Neck and winters in Clearwater Beach, FL. He encouraged education to his children and afforded them a wonderful lives and memories.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores (Deptula) Kolakowski in May of 2017 and his daughter, Julie. He is survived by his sons; Thomas (Bernadette) Kolakowski, Jr. of Dover, DE, John (Donna) Kolakowski of Lewes, DE and Andrew (Kelly) Kolakowski of Clayton, DE; a daughter, Jennifer (Kenneth) Zalewski of Taylor Mill, KY and 15 grandchildren; Emily (Eli), Thomas III, Peter, Claire, Alexandra, Max, Roman, Juliana, Zarek, Minka, Sophie, Anya, Monica, Magdalena and Ambrose.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10:30am in St. Hedwig Church, Linden and S. Harrison Streets, Wilmington, DE. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Visitation for Thomas will be held in church, starting at 9:30am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to: St. Hedwig Church, 408 S. Harrison Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.
