Marie E. (Kozlowski) Foskey

Marie E. Foskey, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday July 28, 2018. Marie was born in Wilmington to the late Mildred (Smulski) Kozlowski and William Kozlowski. She lived in the Wilmington area her entire life.

Marie is preceded in death by her siblings, Chester "Jesse" Laskowski, Charles Kozlowski, Emily Metts, Florence Barnette and twins William and Edward Kozlowski. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, John W Foskey Sr., her daughter, Harriet "Suggie" Rose (Gary), and son, John W Foskey Jr. as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Marie was a devoted wife and caring mother who loved her children as well as life itself. She was very jovial and quick witted, able to light up a room. She could also be very defiant and at times stubborn. It was probably these qualities that kept her going despite her body being ravaged by renal disease and dementia. She never stopped fighting until the end.

During her lifetime she held numerous positions including extensive volunteering at St Matthew School, Salesianum High School, and St Hedwig Polish Festivals. She was a member of St Hedwig Church and the Holy Rosary Society however inactive in recent years due to her failing health.

The family would like to extend their heart felt gratitude to the various doctors, care givers and facilities that assisted in her medical care.

Visitation for Marie will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 9:30-10:25 am, in St. Hedwig Church, 408 So. Harrison Street, Wilmington, DE 19805. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to St Hedwig Church or a charity of your choice.
