Marie (Hobora) Holowatch

Marie Holowatch of New Castle, DE passed away peacefully on September 9 2018, at the age of 95.Marie was born and raised in Jermyn, PA.

She was a homemaker and raised her family in Clarks Summit, PA, she later moved to New Castle to live with her daughter. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to travel, was an avid reader, and loved cooking and baking for her friends and family. She was a faithful and active member of All Saints Orthodox Church in Olyphant, PA and later became a member of St. Michaels Orthodox Church in Wilmington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Nicholas; sister, Antoinette Petorak, and granddaughter, Rachael Chupeck . She is survived by her children, Ellen Chupeck (Fr Joseph), Karen Hojnicki (Edward) and James Holowatch (Kaye), 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a sister, Olga Sopchak.

The family wants to thank the many caregivers at Delaware Hospice for their compassionate care.

isitation will be at St. Michael's Orthodox Church, 2300 Huntington Dr. Wilmington, DE 19808 on Sunday, September 16 from 5 to 7pm. Panikhida memorial service will follow at 7. The funeral service will be held on Monday September 17, 2018 in St. Tikhon’s Monastery, South Canaan, PA at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow at the Monastery Cemetery.
