Theresa Mary (Szczerba) Pustolski, age 89, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017.

Born July 13, 1927, in Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Veronica (Szostkowski) Szczerba. Theresa retired from the DuPont Company in 1985. She had worked for Hercules and the DuPont Companies with over 20 years of service in Accounts Receivables. Theresa was active in the ladies sodality at St. Hedwig’s Church helping prepare food for the annual church carnival and other church events. She was a member of the women’s auxiliary at the Polish American VFW Post 3257. She also enjoyed family gatherings, trips abroad and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Theresa enjoyed her outings with the residents and staff of the Weston Senior Living Center.

Theresa is survived by her three children, Mary Witzman and husband Tom, Paul Pustolski and wife Chris, Eugene Pustolski and wife Debbie; eight grandchildren, Veronica and husband Jonathan Bullock, Joseph Witzman, Eugenia and husband Joseph Rossetti, Matthew Pustolski, Elizabeth and husband Keefe Kaylor, Bradley Pustolski, Dana and husband Joshua Reiss, Kathryn Pustolski; and eight great-grandchildren, Auriana, Kaitlynn and Jonathan Bullock, Abriella, Mary and Dante Rossetti, Emily and Catherine Kaylor. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Felix T. Pustolski Jr. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, John, Stanley, Joseph, Mary, Edward Szczerba and Agnes Cook. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Helen Drejka Lipchak and Jean Szczerba.

The family would like to thank the staff of Christiana Hospital, Seasons Hospice, Manor Care and the Weston Senior Living Center for their care of Theresa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, 408 S. Harrison St., Wilmington on Thursday April 20, 2017 at 12:30 pm. Friends may call at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808 on Wednesday April 19, 2017 from 5 to 7 pm. Interment in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
