Albin G. Okoniewski, age 88, of Wilmington, DE went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
Albin graduated from Salesianum High School in 1952, served in the Civil Air Patrol, and U.S. Air Force. After the military, Albin was a small business owner (Al’s TV Service), before becoming a BioMedical Technician at the VA hospital for over 25 years.
He dedicated his life to being a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had a great passion for gardening, cooking, traveling, and people. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds. He held an unwavering faith in God and now shares in His glory.
Albin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy T. (Frati) Okoniewski, of 62 years.
He is survived by sons, Eric Okoniewski and Stephen (Kelly) Okoniewski; daughters, Theresa (Michael) McCormack, Loretta (Marty) Haugh, Mary (Ignacio) Gispert, and Dorothy (Raymond) Lloyd; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and sisters, Sr. DeLourdes Okoniewski and Leona (Vito) Papagno; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 9:30-11AM at St. Hedwig Church, 408 S. Harrison St., Wilmington, DE 19805. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11AM. Interment to follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE 19701.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to St Hedwig Church, 408 S. Harrison Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.
