Alfred A. Rutkowski, Sr.

Alfred A. Rutkowski, Sr., age 80, of Newark, DE passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018. Alfred was a maintenance supervisor for 30 years with New Castle County. He retired in 1998.

He is survived by his wife, Irene (Spinden) Rutkowski of 57 years; his son, Alfred Rutkowski, Jr; daughters, Joanne (Andy) Berni, Deborah (Tom) Diamond and Victoria (John) Lloyd; grandchildren, Alfred III, Andrew, Joseph, Matthew, Abby, Kayla, John, Megan and Thomas; a sister, Terry (Harvey) Starr; a brother-in-law, William Lee; a sister-in-law, Joyce Veltre and numerous nieces and nephews. Alfred was predeceased by his sister, Carolyn Rutkowski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11:30 am in St. Hedwig Church, Linden and So. Harrison Streets,Wilmington, DE. Visitation for Alfred will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE on Monday morning starting at 9:30am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to St. Hedwig Church, 408 So. Harrison Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.
