Charles A. Gondek

September, 1926 – January, 2014

            Charlie Gondek passed away on January 14, 2014 at Christiana Hospital after a short illness. He was predeceased by his parents Albert J. and Charlotte (Tessie) Klimaszewski Gondek.  He is survived by his children: Barbara (Tom) Krajewski and Francis C. (Leslie), Judith A., and Steven A. (Frances) Gondek, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He also is survived by his aunt, Jean Kleamski, sisters Marian Antonini and Joanne Ademski, brother the Rev. Albert J. Gondek, OSFS, nieces, nephews and their children.

Charlie was proud of his service in the U.S. Army, as well as his years at United Parcel Service. He was a Eucharistic Minister and avid volunteer at St. Paul’s R.C. Church in Delaware City, Delaware, and had many friends in the St. Paul’s parish community.

            A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 17th at 11:00am at St. Paul’s Church, 209 Washington St., Delaware City, DE, where family and friends may visit from 9:30 to 11:00am. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Delaware City, following the Mass.

            In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, ATTN: Rev. Albert J. Gondek, OSFS, Pastor, 619 S Main St., Lexington, NC 27292, or St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 209 Washington St., Delaware City, DE 19706.
