Dorothy Helen Zaremba, age 97, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2026.
She was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Walter and Stefy (Augustynowicz) Przybylek and grew up in the Browntown neighborhood. She worked at Schelich’s Bakery and eventually as a deli clerk at Pathmark, in addition to raising her family.
Dorothy was a devout parishioner of St. Hedwig church; was involved with their annual carnival, and was a member of the Holy Rosary Society. She also enjoyed bowling and taking trips to the casinos, especially in Atlantic City, NJ.
She is survived by her son, Edward Zaremba (Karen); her granddaughter, Sarah Zaremba; and her niece and nephew, Patricia Guilday (John) and Joe Zaremba; as well as many members of her extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, Sr. in 2004; her sisters, Irene Przybylek and Frances Golden; her nephew, Ronald Zaremba; and her brother-in-law, John Golden.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Monday, June 15, 2026, at St. Hedwig Church, 408 S. Harrison Street, Wilmington, DE 19805, where family and friends may visit beginning at 9:30am. Interment will be held in Cathedral Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to St. Hedwig Church at the address listed above.
