Evelyn Wisniewski  

Age 97, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, surrounded by her family at Regal Heights Rehabilitation Center.

Evelyn was a machine operator for NVF for many years. She was a member of St. Hedwig Church and a lifetime member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. She was an avid gardener and a seamstress. She loved to cook and was a big part of making the food for the Polish Festival. She was a special baci to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Regal Heights.

Evelyn’s husband, Stanley Wisniewski passed away in 1991. Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Annette (Ronald) Price and Barbara (Edward) Stachow both of Wilmington, DE; her sisters, Mary Kozicki and Helen Kaminski both of Wilmington, DE; her grandchildren, Ronnie, Danielle, Jamie, Dianne and Stephen; 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her 3 brothers, Francis Grabowski, Edward Grabowski and Tony Grabowski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 10:30 am in St. Hedwig Church, Linden & S. Harrison Streets, Wilmington, DE. Burial will follow in the crypt of St. John Neumann in the Cathedral Cemetery. Visitation for Evelyn will be held on Monday evening from 5-7 pm at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to St. Hedwig Church, 408 S. Harrison Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.
