Frank A. Kaminski

 Age 74, died peacefully on April 11, 2013 with his close friends Charles Downs and Joanne Loving as well as his brother, Tom and sister-in-law Nancy by his side. 

Frank was a graduate of Salesianum High School and Randolph Macon College.  He excelled in basketball at Randolph Macon earning "Little All-American Honors" for two years and was twice voted "Virginia Small College Player of the Year".  His coach called him "the greatest thing to happen at Randolph Macon in 100 years, the best all-around basketball player in school history".  In 1964 he was selected to "Who's Who in American Universities and Colleges".  In 1996  he was among six charter inductees into the College's first Hall of Fame for Sports. 

At age 30, after he could no longer compete in basketball, he transitioned to golf, winning several club championships at Porky Oliver Golf Club and won the Delaware Senior Amateur Championship in 1993.  In 2009, he was inducted into Delaware's Sports and Museum Hall of Fame and into Delaware Basketball Legends in 2010.  He immensely enjoyed competing with the sweepers at Porky Oliver and continued to do so until he was no longer able because of an incurable cancer that he fought for over 8 years.

He was predeceased by his wife Suanne, father and mother John and Stella, brother, John and brother-in-law Larry Duffy.  He is survived by his brother Tom Kaminski and his wife Nancy; nephew,  Zachary Kaminski; sisters-in-law Agnes and Margaret Mary; brother-in-law Tom Duffy and his wife Vivian, Father Hugh Duffy OSFS, and many nieces and nephews and good friends Doris Roser, Charles Downs and Joanne Loving. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Our Lady of Fatima Church, New Castle, DE on Thursday morning, April 18, 2013 at 10 am. Internment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery in New Castle, DE.  In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to The Sick and Retired Oblate Fathers, Oblate Retirement Fund, P.O.
