Helen (Buda) Pukalski

Helen (Buda) Pukalski, 90, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025.  Born in Wilmington on March 15, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Jennie (Wlosinski) Buda. 

Helen was a graduate of Wilmington High School and worked for many years as a secretary, with the majority of her career being with the Law Firm of Morris, James, Hitchens & Williams.  She was a dedicated member of St. John the Beloved Parish.  Helen had a love of animals, with a special affinity for cats, and was a fan of the original Wilmington Blue Rocks.

Her husband, John F. Pukalski Sr., passed away on October 18, 2003.  In addition, Helen was sadly predeceased by her infant son, Anthony Pukalski, her adult son, Anthony Pukalski, her son, John F. Pukalski Jr., and her son-in-law, William Joswick.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Ann Joswick, Claire Marie Behmke and husband, Frank; her grandchildren, Adam, Jessica, Alex, Allison, Michele, Samantha, Veronica and Tony; her great grandchildren, Kayla, Logan, Shay, Dylan, Blaize, Kayden, Jocelyn, Autumn, Evander, Maddox and Journi; her great-great granddaughter, Alana.

Helen was predeceased by her brother, Leon Buda.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Wednesday, July 9 from 9:00 – 10:15AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road at 11:00AM, immediately followed by interment at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
