Helen Rose Korup

     Rose, age 89, of Wilmington passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 27, 2014. Born in Wilmington, Delaware on December 20,1924, Rose was the daughter of the late Anthony Chrzanowski and Maryanna Odachowski Chrzanowski.

     Rose attended St. Hedwig's Elementary School and Wilmington High School. She also graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Psychology. Rose then went on to work for the DuPont Company as an executive secretary in the legal department for over 30 years.

    She was married to Eugene M. Korup for over 50 years. They enjoyed traveling and their beach house in Rehoboth Beach,Delaware.

    Rose loved being involved with her niece and nephews and all of their children. She was always lively and happy to be at family gatherings and was everyone's greatest supporter. She was a champion listener and offered sound advice. Rose also dearly loved animals whether her own or stray. She fed all animals that were hungry in her neighborhood and offered them shelter.

    Rose is survived by her nephews, John A. Chrzanowski, Jr. and his wife Mania and their two children, Mary Kate (Bobby) and Lauren (Dan) of Wilmington; Frank Chrzanowski and his wife Jane of Alexandria, Virginia; Dr. Steven Chrzanowski and his wife Karen and their two children Katie and Matthew of Philadelphia; her niece, Dr. Mary Anne Tucci and her husband Richard and their two children Maria Rose and Emily of Berwyn, PA.

    Visitation for Rose will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 9:30-10:30 am at John F. Yasik Funeral Home, 607 S. Harrison Street, Wilmington, Delaware.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday morning at 11:00am in St. Elizabeth Church, Cedar and Clayton Streets, Wilmington. Burial will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faithful Friends, ASPCA, or Delaware Humane Society.
