Henry P. Szczesiak

age 88, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012 in Seasons Hospice at Christiana Hospital.  

Henry was a self-employed produce vendor.  He was an Army veteran and proudly served in the European Theatre during WWII.  He was an avid sports fan and especially liked watching the Philadelphia Phillies & 76ers and the Detroit Lions & Tigers.

His wife of 65 years, Mary (Certesio) Szczesiak passed away in March of 2012.  He is survived by daughters; Marie (Alex) Espiscopo of Newark, DE, Ann (Joe) Messick of Hockessin, DE and Patricia Schmidt (Tom) of Hockessin, DE, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in St. Hedwig Church, Linden & S. Harrison Streets, Wilmington, DE on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 10:30 am. Visitation will be held in church starting at 9:30 am.  Burial will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.

The family would like to thank Home Instead Senior Care, the Veterans Administration and Christiana Care – Seasons Hospice for their compassionate care.
