         James T. Romanski

 

    Jim,  age 72, of New Castle, DE, formerly of Wilmington, DE.  passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in the Christiana Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

    Born in Wilmington, Jim was the son of the late Theodore and Dorothy (Kavanaugh) Romanski. He served for 4 years in the US Air Force. Jim worked as a Cable Splicer for Diamond State Telephone Co. for 35 years, retiring in 2001. He was an avid sports fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Flyers. Most importantly, he was a big fan of the St. John the Beloved and Padua sports teams. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family.

    Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (Licki) Romanski in 2000.

    He is survived by his wife, Carole (Quickle) Romanski; his daughter, Pamela Barry of Hockessin, DE; his 3 sons, Thomas Romanski, Joseph Romanski and Jason Romanski of Wilmington, DE; his 2 grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Austin Barry; his sister, Patricia (James) Rosemary of Newark, DE. He is also survived by his extended family, 5 step children, Robert (Sol) Hepner of Elkton, MD, Eddie Hepner of PA, Larry Hepner of New Castle, DE , Byron (Deanna) Hepner of Newark, DE and Michele (William) Klink of Elkton, MD; 20 step grandchildren; 23 step great grandchildren as well as his nieces and nephews.

    A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 11:30 am in St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Visitation for Jim will be held in church on Thursday morning starting at 9:30am. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jim’s name to the American Cancer Society, 92 Read’s Way, New Castle, DE 19720
