Joan  E.  Cummings

Joan E. (Hall) Cummings, 75, of Smyrna, DE, formerly of Wilmington and Dewey Beach, passed away on December 23, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend and she will be greatly missed. Born and raised in Pennsville, NJ, Joan was a talented artist, gardener, and decorator.

She loved to entertain and always provided her guests with a delicious meal. She enjoyed spending summers at the beach with her family and friends. She was a devoted volunteer at Resurrection Parish in Newark, DE for many years.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband James Cummings and her father John Hall. She leaves to cherish her memories her mother Violet (Marples)Hall, of Pennsville, NJ, her brother Harry Hall (Janice), of Pennsville, NJ daughters Kim Weisenberger (Tim), of Houston, TX, and Lisa Cummings, of San Jose, CA, and grandchildren Theresa (Chris), TJ, and Michelle.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 28, 10:30 am in St Hedwig Church, 408 S. Harrison Street, Wilmington, DE. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington. Visitation will be on  Saturday morning, at The John F. Yasik Funeral Home, 607 S. Harrison Street, Wilmington, DE, starting at 9:00 am.
