Joseph  P.  Olesiewicz

Age 88 of Glassboro, NJ formerly of Wenonah, NJ passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013 at home. Born in Camden, NJ, he served in the US Army and worked as a Book Binder for Curtis Publishing in Philadelphia. Joe was also employed by P.A.T.C.O. and retired as a Station Supervisor in 1989. He was a member of St. Joseph's Holy Name Society in Camden, NJ and was the Chairman of their Bingo Committee. Joe enjoyed fishing, golfing, going to the casinos, and growing vegetables in his garden. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan of the 76ers, Phillies, and Eagles. Joe especially enjoyed going to all of his grandchildren's events and games. He was their biggest fan and supporter.

Husband of the late Dorothy Olesiewicz (nee Krystkiewicz) and Florence Olesiewicz (nee Krystkiewicz), he was a loving father to his children, Donald (Irene) Olesiewicz of Woodbury, NJ, Dianne (John) Yasik of Newark, DE, and Denise (Joe) Fox of Glassboro, NJ, and Joseph (Bridget) Olesiewicz of Phoenix, AZ, his stepson, Daniel Stark of Flourtown, NJ, and stepdaughter, Carol (Bryan) Kelsey of Philadelphia, PA, 9 grandchildren, Kathleen (Mike) Storms, Suzanne (Keven) Williams, Michael Yasik, John Yasik, William Olesiewicz, Erin Olesiewicz, Angela Radesky, Michelle Kelsey, Bryan Kelsey Jr., 2 great granddaughters, Ava & Lila, and many nieces & nephews who loved their Uncle Joe. Joe was also predeceased by his sister Loretta Kanaszka, and brothers and sisters, John and Bernie Zawitkowski, Lil Zbieratzki and Mary Machintosh.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family 9 to 11 AM Thursday, October 10 at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Mantua, NJ a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main Street, Mantua, NJ 08051 at 11:30 AM. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chews Landing, NJ. Contributions in Joe's memory may be made to Church of the Incarnation.
