Julia (Szemegda) Sobkiw, 95, of Carneys Point, New Jersey passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024.
Julia and her husband of 66 years, Wolodymr, were self-employed tavern owners. She was devoted to her beloved family and very proud of her Ukrainian heritage.
Her husband passed away on September 8, 2013.
Julia is survived by her sons, Orest Sobkiw and wife, Linda, Bohdan Sobkiw and wife, Dorothy, Walter Sobkiw and wife, Claudia; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Maria, Eva and Polina; her brother, Vasyl; her parents, Teodor and Anna (Antoniv) Szemegda.
Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 800 W. Lea Blvd., Wilmington, DE 19802 on Thursday, March 14 from 10:00 – 10:45AM. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00AM, immediately followed by entombment in Cathedral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Julia may be made to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church or to the Ukrainian Seminary, c/o St. Nicholas Church.
