                       "Remy"

Age 71, of Newark, DE passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2014.

Remy was a passionate and caring Registered Dietitian at St Francis Hospital for over 10 years as well as a Retired Registered Dietitian at Christiana Hospital with over 30 years of service. She was also a retired Major in the Delaware Army National Guard with 20 years of dedicated service. In addition, she was also an active member of PAAD and loved spending time at the Delaware beaches with her family.

Remy is survived by her husband of 31 years, Oscar Balan, her sons, Christopher Balan and Michael Balan all of Newark, DE, her grandson, Kai Balan, and her sister, Herminia Ruben of Subic Bay, Phillipines.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 345 Bear-Christiana Road, Bear, DE on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 12noon. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE. Visitation for Remy will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7pm., and Wednesday morning in the church from 11am to 11:45am.
