Rose C. Stopyra

Age 96, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in the Hillside Care Center.

Rose worked as a secretary for NCC in the Sheriff’s Department, she retired in 1988. She was a very generous person and loved to play the piano. She acted as a grandmother to her nieces and nephews after the passing of her mother.

Rose was preceded in death by her siblings, John Stopyra, Anne Stopyra (Mongillo) and Albert Stopyra. She is survived by her brother, Joseph (Jean) Stopyra of PA and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 10:30 am in St. Hedwig Church, Linden and S. Harrison Streets, Wilmington, DE. Visitation for Rose will be held in church starting at 9:30 am. Burial will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to St. Hedwig Church, 408 S. Harrison Street, Wilmington, DE, 19805.
