Stanley K. Szymanski, Sr.

      Stanley, age 76, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014, surrounded by his loving family, after a 2 year battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

      Stanley was a Navy Veteran who served on the USS Valley Forge. He was an insurance salesman with Prudential for 20 years, retiring in 1993. Stanley was a lifetime member of the Minquas Fire Department.

     He is survived by his wife, Jaclynn Szymanski; his 2 sons, Stanley (Kim) Szymanski, of Wilmington, DE and Michael (Sue) Szymanski of Mayock, NC; a daughter, Traci (Greg) Peterson-Nielsen of Bear, DE; 7 grandchildren, Stanley III, Brian, Alex, Danielle, Zack, Gregory and Giuliana; 2 brothers, William (Pat) Szymanski of Wilmington, DE and Joseph (Bernie) Szymanski of Newark, DE; 2 sisters, Geraldine Walsh of Orlando, FL and Mary Ann Reece of Chesapeake City, MD and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Kay (Don) George of Harrington, DE.

      A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11:30 am in St. Matthew Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE. Visitation for Stanley will be held prior to Mass on Friday morning in church from 10:00 – 11:30am. Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Bear DE.

     In lieu of flowers, family requests contributions may be made in Stanley's memory to the Helen Grahm Center, CCHS, PO Box 1668, Wilmington, DE 19899 or Delaware Hospice Inc., 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.
