Stefan Pastuszok
Age 90, of Middletown, DE, formerly of Ridley Park, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 28, 2015. Stefan was born in the Ukrainian village of Brody, on October 12, 1924, to Nicholas and Maria (Datskiw) Pastuszok. He was one of five children.
He left his beloved homeland as a teen to go to war and immigrated to the U.S. in 1949. He was introduced to Olga Arkatin and was married for over 50-years before her passing in 2013. Before his retirement, he was a roofer and in his early years, volunteered at the Sisters of St. Basils. Stefan was truly a special man with a gentle spirit, hard-working, and a man of selfless character who devoted his life to his wife, family and God. He had a knack for fixing things, a green thumb, an avid handyman, a cook but especially had a love for his heritage.
He took great joy in his daughters and grandchildren. He will be deeply and forever missed by his daughters Genya Pastuszok Dell’Orefice, of Middletown, DE; Mary Moczerniak Buresch (Paul) of East Aurora, NY; grandchildren Alicia Buresch DiFrancisco (Joe), Robert Buresch, Dante’ Dell’Orefice, Nina Dell’Orefice, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 9 AM on Friday, October 2, with Requiem Liturgy to follow at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 800 Lea Blvd, Wilmington, DE 19802. Divine Liturgy at 10 AM. Intermet will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Elkins Park, PA.
