Theodore A. (Ted) Sowinski

Age 86, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015.

Ted was the son of the late Andrew and Catherine Sowinski of Wilmington, DE and was a native of Delaware, all his life. He was born on March 3, 1929. Ted retired in 1994 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Tech Center, Chester, PA, where he was an administrative assistant. Previously Ted worked for the City of Wilmington in the Department of Public Works and in the plant Engineering Department of the General Motors Corporation, Boxwood Road Assembly Plant. He was a graduate of Wilmington High School and Goldey-Beacom College.

Ted is survived by his sister, Cecilia Mis of Wilmington, DE; nephews, David Mis, Andrew and Steve Sowinski; nieces, Terry Coen and Anne Sowinski and 7 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Sowinski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at 11 am, in St. Hedwig Church, Linden and S. Harrison Streets, Wilmington, DE. Burial will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery. Visitation for Ted will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30 am at the Doherty Funeral Home, 1900 Delaware Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19806.
