Theresa Ann (Hayes) George

Theresa Ann (Hayes) George, 76, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020.  Born in Wilmington on February 1, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy Ann (Czajkowski) Hayes.

Theresa was employed as a dietician with Christiana Care Health System at Christiana Hospital, having retired in 1990.  She was a member of St. Elizabeth Parish.

Her husband, Henry George IV, passed away in 2009.  In addition to her parents and husband, Theresa was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth (Hayes) Boan and brother-in-law, James Boan; her brother, Joseph Hayes and sister-in-law, Hedwig Hayes; her nieces, Joanna, Kathy and Lisa.

Theresa is survived by her brothers, Charles Hayes, Robert Hayes and sister-in-law, Dolly Hayes; her nephews, Chuck, Joe Jr., Jim Jr., James and John; her nieces, Barbara and Jane; her great niece and Goddaughter, Pamela and husband, Gino along with their children, Donaven, Emma, Jay and Kingston; as well as a host of great nieces and great nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Monday, December 28 from 8:45-9:45AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Church, Cedar and Clayton Streets, Wilmington at 10:30AM, immediately followed by interment in Cathedral Cemetery.
