Thomas Joseph Grenda

 Tommy, age 86, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 22, 2015 after a brief illness.

He was the son of the late Joseph and Katie Grenda. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Florence (“Flossie” Talmo Grenda) and their two sons, Thomas Jr.(Deborah) of Hockessin and Randy(Barbara) of Alpharetta, GA., along with grandchildren Devon Carley(Darrell), Tyler, Brad, Dane, Chad and Taylor Grenda and two adorable great-grandchildren Preston and Addison Carley. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Judy) as well as sisters in law, Rose Schuler and Phyllis Talmo;  brothers in law, Franny (Lorraine) and James(Lorraine) Talmo and many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

He was the owner of Mister G’s Styling Shop for over 50 years as well as an accomplished musician since childhood and leader of The Grenda Four band for over 20 years. He enjoyed vacationing with his family and the traditional family Sunday breakfast. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. John the Beloved Catholic Church. He was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan as well as a close follower of college sports. He will be missed by his family and friends and all those whose lives he touched. He was the greatest husband, father, grandfather and friend. We will find peace and happiness in all the memories he blessed us with. Stolat Pops Stolat.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Beloved R.C. Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE, on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Friends may call at the church from 9:30-10:50 AM. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks contributions be made in Tommy’s name to Salesianum School, 1801 N. Broom St. Wilmington, DE 19802, or St. John the Beloved School, 905 Milltown Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808.
