Walter F. Marchlewski, Sr. passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at home. Walter was a chemical operator for the Hercules Corp. He retired in 1981. He was an Army veteran, who was in the South Pacific and was involved in the Guadalcanal Campaign. He enjoyed the opera, gardening and archeology.
His wife, of 58 years, Irene (Rogulski) Marchlewski passed away in 2009. He is survived by his son, Walter ( Karen Jo) Marchlewski, Jr of Yorktown, VA; a daughter, Janice Derrick of Hockessin, DE and 6 grandchildren, Dianne, Erin, Melinda, Jillian, Steven(Debbie) and Lindsey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:30 am in St. Hedwig Church, Linden & S. Harrison Sts., Wilmington, DE. Visitation for Walter will be held in church starting at 9:30 am. Burial will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery.
