William S. Lutrzykowski, 79, of Wilmington Delaware, died suddenly at home after recent years of ailing health. Born in Wilmington on September 24, 1934 to William and Anna (Delikat) Lutrzykowski. Bill attended St. Hedwig and Brown Vocational Schools. He served in the Army and retired as a research technician, in 1992, from the Du Pont Experimental Station.
Mr. Lutrzykowski was a lifelong member of St. Hedwig Parish where he served as Usher and Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister. He was a long standing treasurer of Pulaski Legion where he was instrumental in their scouting program. He was famous for his potato salad on Christmas and Easter. Bill enjoyed camping; especially in West Virginia, fishing and hunting for duck or geese. He would spend summer weekends with his family at the Cape May cottage and loved to take long naps after a hearty meal. He also traveled especially for ancestral research to Poland. He was known for his bright smile and warm generosity; he was loved by all.
Mr. Lutrzykowski is survived by his two sisters, Agnes Haley of Wilmington and Joan Slaby and her husband, Edmund, of Stowe, PA. In addition he is survived by three nieces and their husbands, Julia & John Lakatos; Paddi & Bob Cathell Jr; and Beth Ann Slaby; three nephews and their wives, Robert & Melody Haley, Edmund & Barbara Slaby and John & Jennifer Slaby; his sister-in-law Anne Lutz, nine great-nephews & nieces. In addition to his parents, Bill is predeceased by his brother, Joseph Lutz, and his girlfriend, Helena Janas, for whom he was the caregiver for ALS.
