William “Todd” J. McLaughlin Jr.

Age 68, of Bear, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2015 with his family at his side.

He was born and raised in the Cleland Heights area and raised his family living in Elsmere, DE. He was very family orientated. He loved fishing and was a train enthusiast and his Irish heritage was a big part of his life. William retired in 2012, after 46 years of service with Agilent Technologies.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sherry (Bixler) McLaughlin, a son; Brien J. McLaughlin of New Castle, DE; a daughter, Amber A. (Michael) Hinton of Bear, DE; grandchildren, Darby, Cooper and Parker; a sister, Josephine LaRock of Freeland PA; a brother, Martin J. (Christine) McLaughlin of Newark, DE; several nieces & nephews and great nieces & great nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, William & Irene (Grohowski) McLaughlin, Sr. and a son, William McLaughlin, III.

Visitation for William will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 9:00 am  to 11:00 am at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 11:30 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4th & Bancroft Parkway, Wilmington, DE. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Fraims Boys & Girls Club, 669 S. Union Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.
